I can’t say I like the band name…The Henry Clay People!?!?! But, I do dig their maturity, their fun-loving, rough-around-the-edges, old school rock n roll. The band comes from LA and they really made a nice first impression w/ the track “Something In The Water”. SOUNDS LIKE: Pavement frontman Steve Malkmus, who borrows the shoes of The Replacements or The Ramones.

San Francisco's Sleepy Sun have a real flair for strangeness. This sextet's atmospheric pysch-freakout rides the wave of critical acclaim directed at peers like Bon Iver and Fleet Foxes. The tracks are filled with folkie harmonies but provides many twists and turns…example, the 7-1/2 minute "New Age," which features one shredding solo at the 2-1/2 minute mark, and a second freakout following four minutes later. SOUNDS LIKE: …if Fleet Foxes used their harmonies for purposes of evil.

Snoopy & Linus have a new favorite act, and so do you: Miike Snow. If you need any persuading, simply check out the lead single, Animal. There are plenty of ‘dope’ remixes out there of this track. The Swedish trio are dropping their self-titled debut album on June 9th. SOUNDS LIKE: Pulses of sound laid on top of fuzzy clinks and clanks, a rollicking piano, matched by soulful & sublime vocals.
